just added cowboys dance hall (in San Antonio, Texas) to my track list. That place was just too much fun. As soon as I get back in the country (i highly doubt I can make it there before my departure) I will drag my friends out there and we will go two-stepping, dammit!
A pic from the Eli Young Band CD release party off the Cowboys website. So so so much fun :)
“Some dreams stay with you forever; drag you around and bring you back to where you were. Some dreams keep on getting better; gotta keep believing if you wanna make sure…Keep on dreaming, even if it breaks your heart.”—Eli Young Band, Even If It Breaks Your Heart (via stefuneeuh)
“Most people don’t know what they want or feel. And for everyone, myself included, it’s very difficult to say what you mean when what you mean is painful. The most difficult thing in the world is to reveal yourself, to express what you have to… As an artist, I feel that we must try many things - but above all, we must dare to fail. You must have the courage to be bad - to be willing to risk everything to really express it all.”— J. Cassavetes (via echomi)
“If there is no struggle there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground, they want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters.”—Frederick Douglass (via underarcaneskies)
It’s not about the cowboy boots & cut off jeans. It’s not about the plaid & cowboy hats. It’s not about the truck & country music.
It’s about knowing where you’re from. It’s about knowing how to love what you have and work hard for what you don’t. It’s about tradition. It’s about saying whats on your mind and telling it how it is. It’s about love, respect, and pride.
“If someone asks me out on a date and they are nice and respectful, then I will say yes. To me it doesn’t matter if I don’t have that big of an attraction to that person. Asking someone out is scary and is a brave thing to do. Plus I might be more attracted to them after that first date. WHO KNOWS WHAT WILL HAPPEN? Plus it’s only a date. You aren’t going to marry that person that night and be with them forever. It’s ONE date. And if the date sucks then at least you got a good dinner.”—
“Dearest Cecilia, the story can resume. The one I had been planning on that evening walk. I can become again the man who once crossed the surrey park at dusk, in my best suit, swaggering on the promise of life. The man who, with the clarity of passion, made love to you in the library. The story can resume. I will return. Find you, love you, marry you and live without shame.”—Atonement (via thesoundofmelodies)
Watching atonement for the first time in years. Enough art, beauty, and passion to break your heart. This movie always reminds me to live my life so passionately that I can barely breathe. I cannot imagine a more fulfilling way to live.
